ARTWORK GUIDELINES
(Large Format Printing)
- Illustrator (ai. or eps.) files are preferred, however we also accept tiffs, hi-res jpegs, Photoshop (psd.) or pdf
If artwork includes images (or ‘raster’ files) embed (place) them in the layout
- Resolution
Work within a proportion of the final artwork size
The resolution requirements of your image(s) is mostly dependent on viewing distance. The closer the viewing distance the higher the resolution needed.Below are some general suggestions:
Close Viewing (under 10 feet) 75 – 175 dpi
Medium / Far Viewing (10 – 25 feet) 40 – 75 dpi
These suggestions are for the project at final output size. If your artwork includes fine print, please use a higher dpi / vector.
- Convert all fonts to outlines
- The artwork should be proportionate to the final output size (25%, 50%, 100%) and specify this ratio in the files
- PMS colours should be embedded in the file and specified on proofs.
Supplying Artwork
Supply the file on any of the following media:
- CD / DVD Rom
- Email (for files of 5mb or less)
- FTP (Davis – see information below or Client – please send address, username and password)

TO ENSURE THAT ALL PRINTED MATERIALS ARE DONE CORRECTLY IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU PROVIDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE REGARDING YOUR FILES AS WELL AS INCLUDE A COLOUR HARD COPY LASER PROOF, PDF OR JPEG TO CONFIRM FINAL ARTWORK.
